Yesterday was an absolutely tragedy--not only for the Boston marathon, but for the city of Boston, runners everywhere, and especially those injured in the explosions and the friends and family of those hurt or killed. I can't imagine what possessed those responsible for this tragedy to do such a horrible and senseless thing--how can they not see how their actions affect others and not feel incredible remorse for the pain and suffering they inflicted.
But even in this terrible tragedy, there were numerous reports of runners' selfless acts to help others who were hurt or who they believed were in danger. Runners helped tear down barricades to get to the wounded, a doctor, having just finished the marathon, came to the aid of injured runners.
Those I knew running the marathon and their friends and family were all OK. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by this terrible tragedy. It's hard to understand why things like this take place, but tragedy also brings an opportunity for people to show compassion and kindness toward one another.

We Apologize for this Interruption
It's been a little while since I've posted. I would say it's because I'm busier, but really I've just been too lazy to update the blog.
I haven't, however, forgotten about this lovely blog. I will update it soon with my final "runner who is passionate about helping others," and a pace report on the Goldy's 10 mile.
Stay tuned, and happy running!
